Both Ao (碧) and Midori(翠) have a reading meaning bluish green. However, Ao (碧) can also be read as Midori, which additionally means green.
The color name Midori(翠) itself may have originated from the color of the Kingfisher's feathers, which are a complex combination of blue and green hues.
